An eclectic, emotive and cleverly written book of short stories.
If there IS a theme it's one of people trying hard to resist pressure from others. The author creates a vivid picture of characters, which drew me in as soon as I started to read. I CARED about them instantly.
The author, Jill Stevenson spent most of her life working with people in one caring capacity or another, and it shows. She obviously understands the human condition very well and is VERY skilled at portraying it, often using humour and great insight.
I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone interested in people and their interactions with others.
