This amazing story is about a struggling fifteen-year-year whose been discovered that she?s cutting herself and has an addiction doing so. Callie (main character) gets recommended from a physician to go to Sea Pines treatment center and forced by her parents. Callie takes some interesting input from anorexic, bulimic, and overweight patients. Callie isn?t much of a talker except when with her psychologist. But after Amanda comes along with the same habit as Callie, will she open up or just shut down?
Callie may have a problem but with her mother always paranoid about her little brother and his VERY dangerously low immunes, her brother with curious questions about the world because of his rare visits out of the house, and her dad never there. You might say that Callie gets occasional attention.
This book is very different from another book I read, THE GIRLS, because in that book the characters are purposely dramatic and cravingly desperate for attention.
I give this book a rating of 9.2 because I, personally, did not enjoy the ending because? you?ll just have to read the book yourself! The reason I gave this book the rating I did is because it could be improved by making it more clear as to who?s talking or who the characters are talking to.
I am writing this book review to tell you that when you hurt yourself mentally, physically, and intentionally you are not only hurting yourself, but others around you, who care!
