Daria writes the following about Secret Journey :
Emma, age twelve, was not a very happy girl. By happy I mean spoiled, softest pillows, cakes and pies all your life. Well, it wasn’t truly like that for her since her mother has a horrible disease and her father hasn’t put much effort into anything ever since. Then, came a day when Emma’s parents and a kind friend had to move far away to heal her mother’s sickness. But, Emma had to stay. No matter how much she asked and begged her father, she still had to live with dreadful cousin Odolf who can’t do anything but hurt her and her gullible aunt never believes Emma. So, Emma wants to run. Soon she ends up as a ship’s boy on the Black Lighting, one of the cruelest ships out there. Something happened that made Emma stranded on the coast of Africa. In the jungle, with wild animals, no food and barely any water, no one knows if she’ll survive. This is one of my favorite books that I read so far. It has a huge amount of great events and some cliffhangers are coming your way. Hurry up and get Secret Journey, an adventurous novel, before somebody else does!
