Erin writes the following about Teenagers Preparing for the Real World Book Review :
Teenagers Preparing for the Real World Book Review Chad Foster, the author of Teenagers Preparing for the Real World, was trying to find a way to get in touch with teenagers before making a big decision in life. Chad Foster took his real life experiences and used them to help teenager?s figure out what might be the right thing for them. Foster was a person who really had no direction in life. He didn?t know what he wanted to do and he didn?t want to do something to please someone else. Foster is a person who is extremely independent there is nothing that is going to stop him from what he wants to do. Throughout this book Foster is just trying to provide tips for younger people. He believes not everybody is on the same path in life and we need to find out what ours are on our own. Foster was the reason I was able to get into this book. As soon as you start reading the book you learn something about him and the life he had. Once he talks about an event in his life he gives an example on how to go about it or how too not. One thing he said to do was to keep a ?black book? and keep the numbers of all the people you meet. Even though he wasn?t able to finish college because it wasn?t the right thing for him he was able to make a success out of his life. Chad Foster was able to provide a tip to people when he said the most important thing you can do is meet people. If you don?t take the time to create a conversation with someone you don?t know you could have lost out of some major thing. Whenever he would meet someone he would ask for their card and the write all these people down in his little black book and remember who they are. I think this is a good tip because you don?t know who you might be standing next to one day while waiting for lunch it could be someone who is looking to invest in a new company and if you don?t know that you could lose out on a lot. Teenagers Preparing for the Real World, is a book that is put into general terms. Because this is a book generated to teenagers he talks in a language teenagers are going to relate to. He was able to give real examples from his life, for instance when he decided school wasn?t for him. Come to find out he at the end said that school wasn?t the thing for him at the time. Really what I think he is saying is to take your time because school has been there for years and it will be there when you are ready for it. I think he was right about this you always have a chance to go to school and many go back to school so why rush going to school when you don?t know if you want to. He said there are other things for you to do if life like working in internship. This will then allow you to see whether you like that field or not. Going about life like this could be a better way for some people. This is what Chad Foster found was best for him.Chad Foster was able to allow this book to make good sense because of the way he wrote it. This was also in some ways a biography of his life, so he made all the events in his life go in sequence. This allows for the book to have a better flow and allows for the reader to have some tips to follow as he/she decides to choose this route. This book was really useful for me while I was thinking about what I want to do after I finish school. One of the points he made that stuck out to me was don?t let others make your decisions, only you know what is right. It was different coming from him because others have told me this but I never really knew what to make of it, but now I do. It might have confused me more, but in the long run I will know what I want out of life. Nothing I have read has compared to this. I was able to really get into this book in a way I wasn?t able to get in to other books. In some ways I found it was mentally good for even my horse back riding. I found that I need to stick up for myself and work for what I want. This was a great book and I would recommend it to every teenager to read and to put things in prospective.
