craze writes the following about Max the Mighty :
Max the Mighty
By Philbrick Rodman

Freak the Mighty is his name, or was his name I should say. After Max?s best friend Kevin passed away the name Freak the Mighty faded away. Now his name is just plain old Max, or will that change after he meets a little girl named Worm. Will Max turn into Max the Mighty again?
Like Freak the Mighty you get hooked to the book by the second page. Most of his books are about the characters finding themselves through other people. The theme in the book is people believing in people that have lost all hope in themselves. It?s another year of school for Max and he really doesn?t like going to school. Max lost all hope in him self, but there was one person that had some hope in him. It all started one day when Max was walking home from school and saw two bullies picking on this little girl that they called Worm. Max scared away the bullies and helped the little girl, but that was only the beginning to the problems that Worm had, Max was to find that out later on in the book, as you will see yourself as the reader. Max and worm soon come to a problem that they run into and they?re on the open road on the way to find Worm?s real dad who lives in Chivalry? And will Max be arrested for kidnapping? Will they make it to Chivalry before the cops get them? What will happen next?
I give this book a 10, because this book got me hooked and there aren?t many books that I get hooked on. If I were to suggest any changes in the book it would be to have Worm?s dad be alive, and for Worm?s mom and dad getting back together and getting married again. The ending of the book kind of disappointed me when I read it, but still it was a good book. If I were to recommend this book to people that have only read the first book, which is Freak, the Mighty. For an age group I would recommend 6th ? 8th graders, because I think that they?d understand the book more. I chose this book because I had read Freak the Mighty and I wanted to find out what happened next, now I know. I couldn?t give this book any other rating than a 10 because the book has truly earned this 10
