Valerie writes the following about The Year of Miss Agnes :

There is a family who lives in Alaskaa that has a small school. One day, the school gets a new teacher named Miss Agnes. One of the students is deaf, so Miss Agnes teaches the deaf student, Bokko, and the rest of the class sign language. After spring break, the students find out that Miss Agnes is going to be their teacher again and are so excited.
