This book helped make me more aware of the prevalent problem of self-mutilation. This book was written in a realistic, but yet enteraining way which made it easier to understand and relate to Callie's problem. More authors should focus on such controversial issues such as this to help make people of all ages aware of the dangers that are in our society. In doing this, hopefully, issues such as this won't be overlooked and passed off as "no big deal," and the people facing these problems will be able to receive help and support.
