The book I read was called Among the hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix. It is about a boy named Luke and a girl named Jen. They both are shadow children. They have to hide because it is against the law to have more than two kids. One day Luke is looking through the vent and sees Jen peeking out the window. He finally gets up enough courage to go over to her house. They became friends and Jen told Luke that she was planning a rally for all of the shadow children. Luke was going to go, but decided not to. The day of the rally came and Jen left. A couple of days went by but Jen never signald Luke to come over. One day he decided to go over to Jen's house and see what was the matter. At the end of the book Luke gets something that will change his whole life. What I liked about the book was that it had a good background. I would recommend this book to someone else because it is a great book to read and I hated putting it down. They teach how to deal with peer pressure too. This book compares to other books because it has it's funny moments and it's sad moments. I would rate this book a 9 because it is sad and it has some words that some kids might not understand. I would have made it happier in some places. Margaret couldn't put it in another person's point of view. This book really made you think. This is a great book for adventure readers.
