The book I'm reading is Ella Enchanted by Gary Carson Levine. It's about a young princess named Ella who is bestowed with the gift of obedience. Ella's life is turned upside down when her mother soon dies of sickness. Poor Ella, is sent to boarding school by her conceited father. In boarding school the girls there get the best of Ella and take advantage of her spell. Worn out,Ella soon runs away where she soon finds a new friend, prince Char. Will Ella's life be better since returning home? I really like how Levine made Ella's struggles touch you in a certain way. I felt really sorry for Ella in the beginning, with her mother's death. She handles in a very mature way. I would rate this book a "9" because it makes you feel like your in the book. This book in my opinion is a little like Cinderella in a couple of parts. I think the author should of made it more anticipating, less more misleading. Otherwise Ella Enchanted is a great "happily ever after" book that others should read.
