I got this book as a gift, and after I read it I have to say this is one of the best books that I have read in my life! This novel is about an eleven-year-old boy, Ari, who is the prince of a kingdom called Dinan. His father was killed by a legendary swordsman from an enemy country named Black Wolf when Ari was six years old. After Ari?s eleventh birthday, he decides to go on a journey to look for Black Wolf. During the journey, Ari encounters great dangers and almost loses his life. But he eventually finds Black Wolf and understands why Black Wolf killed his father. There are many, many surprises in this novel, including a real shocker near the end. You will keep turning the pages because you will want to find out what happens next, and next, and next. In fact, I was not able to stop reading and put the book down, and I finished it in just one day. It?s not too long like Eragon or Harry Potter. The author created a wonderful world and described it very well so that you feel you are right there in Ari?s shoes. I love to read and I have read a lot of books, including Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, and Eragon, and I have to say The Orphan Prince is just as good as those books, if not better! I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys children?s fantasy and science fiction, who likes to read about scary monsters and amazing sword fights, who wants to be a hero and immerse himself in tons of action and adventure.
