Heather writes the following about The Child Called It :
"A Child Called It" is about a boy named Dave J. Pelzer getting abused by his mother. In this book he is 4-12 years old.
Dave grew up in a normal family. With a mom, dad and two brothers. They did everything together. Just like your family and you! Then his parents started to have disagreements. So they got divored.
Then everything happend! Dave was not an ordinary child anymore. He was abused from the moment he woke up. Dave hardly got anything to eat. He was lucky to get table scraps from his brothers. Dave had to do everything now!
I liked this book alot. I gave this book a 10 because I think it gives good pointers on what a child goes through and his lifestyle when he is abused. This book really makes you think.I recommend this book to young adults. There are many more sequels to this book, the next one is called "The Lost Boy".
