Jennifer writes the following about Phoenisx Rising :
The book called Phoenix Rising was a great book. I loved all of the characters in the story, especially Nyle because she is a lot like me. The book also has some very good chapters that I loved. One chapter that I found interesting was chapter eleven. I liked this chapter because Ezra is now talking and there is hope for him to overpower his sickness. At the end of the chapter he said "I feel like that bird. The Phoenix. It burns up, and then rises from its ashes." This book deserves a 10 because it tells the struggle about a boy who now suffers radtion poisoning from a nuclear power plant accident. The boy's name was Ezra Trent and he came to stay with a girl and her grandmother. The girl's name is Nyle and at first she didn't want Ezra to stay with them, but then that all started to change. Ezra became better and started school again. Could Nyle's feeling for Ezra lead her to a broken heart? Find out what happens by reading the Phoenix Rising by Karen Hesse.
