I like Sounder because Sounder is a very clever dog and very resepctful to other people - except the people that mess with his master and his famly. The reason I rated the book an 8, is I didn't like the part when Sounder died. That was very sad; it made me want to cry. Sounder reminds me of my dog, Princess, but the only thing different is that my dog was a girl. My favorite character is the mother. Why do I like the mother so much? Well let me tell you. I like the mother because she was very clever. I like the things the mother says in the book. I also like how the dog and the master conpare with each other. Another part I don't like is when the father died. That was so sad for me to read. It almost made me want to cry. Sometimes when I am by myself I think about things the boy thinks about, like being poor. My family is something like the boy's family. We are lovable and caring. I also like the song the mother was singing."You gotta walk that lonesome valley you gotta walk it by yourself. ain't nobody else gonna walk it for you". I also liked, "the Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want, he maketh me to lie down in green pastures" I've heard that and read that in the Bible. I hope you enjoyed reading this and I hope you read Sounder, by William H. Armstrong. Time passed very fast time reading his book. I think W will read some more of his work. from: Jestin
