Tommie Jones III writes the following about Max the Mighty :
BOOK REVEIW

Have you ever done something that you don?t want to but you do it anyway because you feel as if it will help someone? Well that is what happens in Max the Mighty a book by Rodman Philbrick. This book is about a boy named Max who runs off with a little girl named Worm because her step dad would always beat on her mom and her. So right now you?re saying what?s so bad about him taking her away from the bad environment she was in, that?s not the end. Worm?s step dad gets her mom to say that Max kidnapped Worm and hit on her so he wouldn?t go to jail. So now Max and Worm are on their way to Montana to find Worm?s real dad so he can clear all this up. What happens on the way there and what do they find when they get there, well you will just have to read it to find out.
Like Freak the Mighty, Philbrick?s other book, Max the Mighty is hard to put down because he gets you started, then before you know it the chapter is over and your just like ok I will only read one more chapter. I like how Philbrick lets you almost picture what?s going on like you?re in the characters head and you can hear all their thoughts. One thing I would change about this book is that I want to know what happens to Max and Worm after the book is over?
I give this book a 9 because it was a very good piece of work. I would have given it a 10 but it had a slow start. One thing I like about Freak the Mighty and Max the Mighty is that in both books is the characters are always willing to help others no get out of the bad situation they are in, and that?s why I loved Freak the Mighty and Max the Mighty.
