Justin writes the following about The River :
The book I read was called The River by Gary Paulson. The story took place in the wilderness, by a river, during the summer. The main characters were Brian Robeson, a brave and smart teenager. Derek Holtzeris a nice and smart man, that works for the governmaent. Two years ago Brian was stranded out in the wilderness for more than 54 days and now hte government wants him to do that same thing again to teach the astronauts and the millitary the survival techniques he used.During a storm lightning strikes a tree and it travels to Derek and he falls into a coma and thier radiop transmitter is dead. Brian builds a raft and tries to get DErek to the Trading Post 100 miles down the river. I enjoyed this book because it is by my favorite authorand it's the sequal to Hatchet. I also enjoyed this book because I like books that take place in the woods. I would reccomend this book to people who like gary Paulson
