Introductory Activity : 1. After reviewing the story of Pompeii, explain to the students they are going to research a website about Pompeii.
2. Hand the students the worksheet with the research questions on it and review each question.
3. Tell the students that their mission is to complete all of the questions using the Pompeii website.

Body : 1. Once the students have arrived to the computer room, have them log onto their computers and the internet.
2. Show the class where to put the web address and have them go the the website. (Make sure you post the web address on the overhead, or have it on their worksheets.)
3. Once the students have reached the website, show them how to navigate through it.
4. Allow the students to work independently to navigate through the site and conduct their research.
5. Facilitate the students when needed and keep them on task.
6. Collect the worksheets when the students have finished. (If some students finish sooner than others, allow them to either navigate through the website or play one of the educational computer games.)

Conclusion Activity : If just about everyone completed the worksheet correctly, I would reward the students by grading the papers for an extra quiz grade or use the worksheets as bonus points.
