Objectives :

Students produce a real streaming internet radio show based upon material they study in class. Why should youth produce radio content? We believe the medium empowers voice in a way that Internet activities largely miss; spoken word (rather than written word) carries a special emphasis on emotion and context. In this way, youth who produce radio segments construct new relationships with listeners worldwide and, more importantly, come to understand how to powerfully vocalize their important issues.

By producing a radio show, students will:
-Be comfortable in verbalizing their experiences and thoughts to the public.
-Reflect upon and improve their enunciation and public speaking skills.
-Recognize digital opportunities to vocalize ideas to the world;
-Learn audio production and editing

Materials :

  • Computer (PC or MAC)
  • Computer Microphone
  • Internet connection
